How to Maintain Vinyl Fencing and Decking

Maintaining Your Vinyl Products: Tips for Long-Lasting Durability

Investing in vinyl products like decking and fencing is a smart decision, as they offer many benefits over other materials. Vinyl is known for being low maintenance, but a little bit of care can go a long way in ensuring that it stays looking like new for years to come. In this article, we will discuss some simple tips and tricks for maintaining your vinyl products.

Cleaning Your Aluminum Products

The manufacturer recommends hand washing all surfaces with a mild detergent and a soft cloth, sponge, or soft bristle brush. If you prefer pressure washing, a detergent additive is suggested, but it’s important to keep the pressure capabilities of pressure washers under 1,000 PSI. The nozzle tip should be at least 18 inches away from the product, and it should be thoroughly rinsed to remove all residues.

It’s important to avoid using soap or detergent that recommends gloves or respirators for personal protection or that could damage a painted finish. Additionally, a maintenance log is required to be maintained for all aluminum products, and disregarding the cleaning schedule will void the DSI warranty.

    Cleaning Schedule for Aluminum Products

Cleaning is required every three months for aluminum products located within 1,500 feet of a body of salt or brackish water or in areas influenced by other airborne contaminants. For those located more than 1,500 feet from a body of salt or brackish water or in areas influenced by other airborne contaminants, cleaning is required every six months.

By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your DSI aluminum products remain in great condition for years to come.
